Nashville, Tenn. (December 3, 2010) - Capitol Records Nashville's platinum-selling country recording group, Little Big Town, experienced a "dream come true" with the announcement they are nominated for a GRAMMY Award in the Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group category for top-charting single "Little White Church", off "The Reason Why" cd, at the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards. Fans can tune in to ABC on Wednesday, Dec. 8 to watch them perform their newly GRAMMY nominated song as well as their latest single, "Kiss Goodbye" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! at 12:05 a.m. ET.

“When I heard the news last night, my eyes filled up with tears. We are so thrilled to be nominated for a GRAMMY for ‘Little White Church.’ When we wrote and recorded the song, we knew it was special, and we of course dreamed of a GRAMMY nomination, so hearing the news last night was a dream come true,” said the band’s Kimberly Schlapman. This is the fourth GRAMMY nomination the band has received thus far. Others include: Best Country Album (The Road To Here), Best Country Performance (“Boondocks”) and Best Country Collaboration (“Life In A Northern Town” w/ Sugarland and Jake Owen). Little Big Town, which includes Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, have been making music together for 12 years, with humble origins beginning in 1998 when college mates Kimberly and Karen were joined by both Phillip and Jimi to form the band. Since then, they've sold over 1.7 million records, been nominated for seven ACM Awards and eight CMA Awards and were named ACM Top New Vocal Group. Milestone hits include “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” and “Good As Gone.” Their latest album, The Reason Why, debuted at #1 on the Country Billboard Albums Chart and received glowing reviews from music critics including The Miami Herald’s Howard Cohen who said the album is “country’s album of the year for 2010.” The Associated Press’ Michael McCall remarked the new music warrants the group to “regain their swagger as one of country’s most distinctive acts.”

Recently wrapping up a tour with Sugarland, the band has resumed their own solo tour at venues across the nation.

For a full schedule of tour dates, visit the band's official website.

Their new ballad, "Kiss Goodbye" (The Reason Why) is currently spinning on country radio stations across the nation, and the emotional video for the song can be viewed on CMT and GAC.

The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards ceremony will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13, 2011.
