FINALLY! As a huge fan of Jason Michael Carroll, I think I might have wee'd a little when I saw that his long awaited new cd was being released. In my opinion, Jason is one of the most underrated, yet off the charts talented artists in country music and I honestly just do not understand why he's not getting the attention he deserves. Well, y'all know I'm not afraid to open my mouth and tell you that I think that's just crap. Jason is not only one of the most naturally talented artists out there, he's also one of most vividly present on stage performers, keeping his shows and his audiences jumping and always coming back for more. He has one of the largest and most dedicated fan clubs in country music, his Honky Tonk Friends. I was at his Christmas 2010 show in Wake Forest, NC and I was a witness to how much people love Jason. The house was packed with HTF's that flew in from every part of the United States and some from out of the country! I was blown away with the dedication directed to this NC native.

His new cd is his first release since his departure from Arista and personally, I'm glad because I think this time the path he's chosen is gonna lead him to a better place, higher sales and better marketing. Arista fumbled the ball on this guy, big time and I'm glad Quarterback recovered and has possession now.

His lead in single, "Numbers", has done very well with his fans, resulting in an overabundance of radio requests. I know it's one of the most played songs on my local station and that's not just because he's from this area, it's because it's a great song. I hope his next big number is #1 on the charts with this one. I love the majority of songs on the cd, but I think his break out hit on this one's gonna be "Meet Me in the Barn." The song is 100% signature Jason Michael Carroll with a heavy tempo laden with drum beats and strong guitar and there is nothing subtle about the lyrics, it's just sexy. One song I am so glad to see on this cd is "Stray". I've seen Jason perform this one several times, the crowd always loves it and it's become a staple of his live shows. No one can really sing a ballad like Jason Michael Carroll, that voice just cuts right through to the heart of a song. There are so many other good songs on this cd, including everyone's favorite, "Alyssa Lies".

Go get your butt to a Cracker Barrel (where Jason once worked, just as an FYI) and grab a copy of this cd while waiting on your Old Timers breakfast platter to be cooked. Go get it, y'all. Get it NOW!
