Twitter Alert to be sent out Today from @CountryMusic

Nashville, TN (October 27, 2011) – Throughout the month of October, or Country Music Month as proclaimed by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, the CMA’s Countrymusicmonth.com is highlighting five new artists each week. Aussie sister-trio, The McClymonts, are featured October 24-30 with @CountryMusic to tweet the “New Artist Spotlight” today. Brooke McClymont had this to say, “After moving to Nashville only five months ago, to be named by the CMA as this week’s ‘New Artist Spotlight’ is simply amazing to us. What an honor. We would like to thank the CMA and to also take this opportunity to thank the Nashville music community, country radio and the media in general for being so kind to us since we got here. We are having the times of our lives - and the best is yet to come.”

In October of 1964, Country Music Month was created by the Country Music Association to honor the format and to bring additional awareness to the industry’s landmark events including the formation of the CMA and the anniversary of the WSM Grand Ole Opry. Numerous states followed suit and eventually several Presidential Proclamations also recognized October as Country Music Month. Now, Tennessee officially celebrates October as Country Music Month and the Country Music Association has a full campaign of events, promotions and activities to support it, culminating with The 45th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 9. As one of promotional efforts surrounding the month, CMA launched Countrymusicmonth.com. Each week the site highlights five CMA Award Nominees and five new artists. The McClymonts are honored to have been selected for the “New Artist Spotlight” by such a prestigious organization.

On August 23, The McClymonts released Wrapped Up Goodin the U.S. The album is produced by industry heavyweights Nathan Chapman (producer for Taylor Swift's Taylor Swift, Fearless, and Speak Now) and Adam Anders (Executive Music Producer for Fox TV's Glee.) Last year, Wrapped Up Goodwas #5 on the Australian country charts (#1-2 Taylor Swift, #3 Lady Antebellum, #4 Keith Urban) outselling Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney among others.

For the past four out of five years, this sister trio won Best Group at the Country Music Awards of Australia. At the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards, they picked up Best Country Album in 2008 and 2010. Now the girls have turned their attention to the U.S. In 2010, they opened for Jason Aldean on his fall tour. Recently they have been touring throughout North America to support the U.S. release of their album and had the great honor of being invited to play the Grand Ole Opry. On September 9, they made their Opry debut and were immediately invited back to play again on September 30.

This month the girls continue promotion of their album and their current single “Wrapped Up Good,” with visits to radio stations and national media outlets, NPR’sWeekend Editionand The Better Show.
