Hmmm ... much like the chicken mystery, I don't think we'll ever know who came first, the Hank or the ESPN ...
Hank Williams Jr. is stating his leaving "Monday Night Football" was his own decision, not ESPN's.
HW Jr. released a public statement today - "After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision." He also states, "By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It’s been a great run.”

ESPN however is insisting they made the decision and that they beat Hank by several minutes in posting their own official announcement about the departure.
