LORRIE MORGAN TAPPED FOR KENNEDY CENTER HOLIDAY GALA


“Christmas Concert For The Troops” 2011

Highlights Compassion And Recognition With A Variety Of Musical Talent

Among a list of Hollywood notables and American heroes, Country royalty and woman of glamour, Lorrie Morgan, has received and accepted a personal invitation to perform at Christmas Concert For The Troops--an annual holiday concert in honor of active duty military at our nation’s capital early next month.

Lorrie, among others, will entertain an intimate crowd of invitation-only guests at the resplendent John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall in Washington, DC. TheChristmas Concert For The Troops (presented by D.C. residents Suzy and Bob Pence along with the USO of Metropolitan Washington) is scheduled to take place the evening of Tuesday, December 6, 2011. The whimsical gala is a private holiday celebration held purely in gratitude and recognition of the men and women who serve on behalf of our country.

As part of the entertainment fare, Lorrie will dedicate three song selections: “My Favorite Things” will set the Yuletide tone and as her musical gift to attendees, and she will perform “America The Beautiful” with Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young (current cast member of “The Jersey Boys”). Morgan will also sing “In My Room” alongside legendary recording artists The Beach Boys.

All performances will be backed by the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by American composer Marvin Hamlisch. Miss America 2011, Teresa Scanlan, and actor John Stamos will host Christmas Concert For The Troops.

Bringing Hollywood flair to the country music format, Lorrie Morgan is a music legend applauded by her public and country music peers. She has had more than 25 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts and three No. 1 hits: “Five Minutes,” "What Part Of No" and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength.”

Recognized as a renaissance woman of the genre, Lorrie Morgan has played parts on Broadway and in theater; she’s recorded duets with Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams, The Beach Boys and Keith Whitley.

In early 2012 Lorrie prepares to release Beyond The Interview: Lorrie Morgan (ANR Records), a boxed set featuring Morgan originals and a documentary film with appearances by family, friends and industry peers, and some of Lorrie's all-time personal musical favorites.
