"Red Solo Cup" #1, Time Magazine Touts I Love This Bar Chain
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) What do Usher, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber have in common? They all join singer, songwriter and entertainer Toby Keith as nominees for Favorite Male Singer at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards. Country's lone representative in the all-genre category, Toby is riding a wave of popularity bolstered by his latest smash hit "Red Solo Cup."
One of the fastest and certainly the most unexpected zero-to-#1 hit in Keith's career, "Red Solo Cup" launched with a viral video that's recently crested 15 million views. Single sales skyrocketed and pushed Toby's current album Clancy's Tavern back to the No. 1 country album chart position at which it debuted in October.
Demand for "Proceed To Party" RSC t-shirts has exceeded supply via Keith's website, and the song was featured in Glee and was recently the Free Track of the Week on Tap Tap Revenge, the No. 1 best-selling app store music game of all time.
But Toby's music isn't getting all the accolades. His I Love This Bar And Grill chain of restaurants was recently cited as one of Time's "Top 10 Celebrity Restaurants." And why not? As the venerable publication notes, " There's no better place to get your horses their beer."
Perhaps not so coincidentally, the eatery and performance venue is also nominated for the Academy of Country Music's Nightclub of the Year. Keith himself is nominated for three ACM Awards.
