CD REVIEW: "CASEY JAMES" - CASEY JAMES

CD: "CASEY JAMES"
ARTIST: CASEY JAMES
RELEASED: MARCH 20, 2012
LABEL: SONY

America might have voted Casey James as the runner up on American Idol in 2010, but judging from the sales, a rabid fan base and the media blasting of Casey's debut self-titled cd which hit shelves on March 20, it looks like Casey's doing just fine and is making his mark on 2012. This cd is flying off the shelves, I've had a hard time catching it stocked here in my area and once I got my hands on a copy (courtesy of one of his dedicated fans), I can definitely see why it's in such high demand. (Just for the record, I was one of Casey's supporters on the show and thought he was hands, talent and a nice chest above the rest ... LOL).

I've gotta say, Casey James has one of the most dedicated, die hard group of fans. These people are keeping the shelves empty, spreading the word like wildfire on social media, documenting his every move and they even pay thousands of dollars that they probably don't even have on travel to his concerts. This speaks volumes in itself about Casey's music, but when you sit down and listen to this cd, you'll understand why they believe in him so highly and will defend him to the death. Casey takes country music and gives it a bluesy, sensual turn yet still maintaining his signature grit and gravel. It's such a nice change to the same old music that's been churned out the past year or so.This is the kind of music you can crank up, open the windows and lay on the couch just letting it take you over as a summer breeze blows through the room. I'm willing to bet your neighbors won't even ask you to turn it down.

His debut single, "Let's Don't Call It a Night", took radio and country music television by storm and it's still one of the best songs on the cd, but to be honest, I like 'em all just as much or more so it's hard to do a song by song breakdown like my usual reviews. I can say with all honesty and sincerity, this is a cd worth your money and one that you won't tire of listening to. It's been a long wait for the release, it's finally here and it was well worth the patience (or impatience depending on who you are ... LOL).

Well done, Casey. You did your fans proud and you made one hell of an entrance!

Dear Anonymous,

You're welcome! So glad you like him. He's so good and not getting nearly enough promotions in my opinion and I'm sure in the opinions of his dedicated fans. Enjoy the cd!
