Well What a Night It Was ... The 2012 ACM Awards Winners Circle

Tonight was a great night for country music. Another ACM awards show comes to a close with many well deserved winners, fantastic performances, an appearance by KISS and other celebrities and a live onstage wedding, all taking place in the bigger than life glamour of Las Vegas.

The Winners Circle:

Entertainer of the Year - Taylor Swift
Male Vocalist of the Year - Blake Shelton
Female Vocalist of the Year - Miranda Lambert
Vocal Duo of the Year - Thompson Square
Vocal Group of the Year - Lady Antebellum
Album of the Year - Miranda Lambert - "Four the Record"
Best New Artist - Scotty McCreery

Thank you to Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton for their hysterical hosting of the show and for bringing life back to awards shows. We think they should host all awards shows, even the Oscars. Their performance deserves an award of it's own.

The show started off with a scorching hot performance from Carrie Underwood of her new hit single, "Good Girl" and was followed with other great performances including:

Jason Aldean - "Fly Over States"
Blake Shelton  - "Drink on It"
Eric Church - "Springsteen"
Zac Brown Band with Brad Paisley - "Keep Me in Mind"
Little Big Town - "Imagine / Here's Hope"
Hunter Hayes - "Storm Warning" (shortened version for new artist showcase)
Brantley Gilbert - "Country Must Be Country Wide" (shortened version for new artist showcase)
Scotty McCreery - "Water Tower Town" (who I thank for featuring the picture of Garner, NC's water tower as I am also from the small NC town, graduated from Garner in 1988)
Miranda Lambert - "Over You"
Toby Keith - "Red Solo Cup"
Dierks Bentley - "Home"
Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw - "Rockstar" (I think that's the name of the song)
Brad Paisley - "Camoflauge"
Sara Evans - "My Heart Can't Tell You No"
Chris Young - "Save Water, Drink Beer"
Martina McBride with Pat Monahan - "Marry Me" (while a live wedding was performed onstage)
The Band Perry - "Postcard from Paris"
Lady Antebellum - "Dancing Away with my Heart"
Lionel Richie/Blake Shelton - "You Are"
Keith Urban - Sorry, can't recall the name of the song right off hand.

One of the highlights of the night was the onstage live wedding of Frank Tucci to Christina Davidson while Martina McBride and Pat Monahan of Train performed their version of Train's hit, "Marry Me". What a great way to start a new life between two people that came together through tragedy. Frank met Christina in a widow/widower support group after Christina's husband of only a very short time drowned in 3 feet of water in a boating accident and Frank's wife was lost after a battle with cancer.

The show was fantastic! Can't wait to see what 2013 holds. Lots of great new music out there right now, should be interesting to say the least. Hoping for new faces and to see some of our favorite new artists next year.
