Can someone give me a "thank God hallelujah" that this cd is finally out? Eden's Edge came on the scene with a highly infectious debut single, "Amen" and it's left fans praying for more.

"Eden's Edge: Deluxe Edition", an exclusive release by Cracker Barrel (yes as in "chicken dumplins so good they'll make you slap your mama " Cracker Barrel), has all the fixins of good country served up with a hearty helping of melodic harmonies and a smidgen of traditional twang. 

The first track on the 13 song cd, the band's harmonius debut single "Amen", took over radio and country music television with a mission, to make Eden's Edge a well known name in new country music and they've done just that. "Amen" debuted on the Billboard charts at #60 and peaked at a not too shabby #18.  The video for the single aired on GAC and CMT and became one of the top requested videos.

The follow up and current single, "Too Good to be True", hasn't quite reached the same fever pitch out of the gate that "Amen" did, but it's fairly new and if audience reaction is any indication, it will hold it's own on the charts just fine. It's got a catchy melody, easy to sing along to lyrics and a hook that will stay in your head long after the song ends.

The cd is full of great music with tracks like the powerful ballad "Last Supper",  the sassy girl's anthem, "Who Am I Drinking Tonight", the Alison Krauss vocally reminicent "Liar", the beautiful hymn-like reverent acapella melody of "Christ Alone", a fast tempo tune "Roots" and many others. There is a little something for everyone on this cd. The instrumentals in the cd are great, nice to hear the mandolin in a new artist release, you really don't hear much of those in current music, it's mainly drums and guitar it seems.

If you like traditional, bluegrassy, banjo and mandolin country, then this is the cd for you. If you're more into the Chesney/Urban sound, then you might wanna pass because this one's for true, backwoods, down home country music fans who aren't afraid of a little twang. This one's a nice change, a breath of new, fresh air in an otherwise honestly stale environment of bubblegum pop/country.
