Happy Fathers Day to all of the dads out there. You are your daughter's first love and the man she will measure all other men against and your are your son's first hero and the one whose opinion will always matter more than any other. As children, we don't say thank you enough for the lifelong job you took on of making sure we are always safe, loved and happy. Thank you also to those dads who might not be biological but stepped up to the role when the biological one failed to. You're all heroes.
To all the dads who can't be with their families today because they're protecting our freedom elsewhere, thank you for what you do and the sacrifices you've made. We know it's tough being away from those who mean the most to you. Our prayers are with you until you come home.
To those who have lost their fathers and aren't able to be with them today, they are with you even if not in person. Their love never fades away nor does your love for them. Spend the day remembering and celebrating what he brought to your lives and what he still brings every day. A father's love is never too far away.
