NEED YOUR HELP TO SEND MATTHEW SMITHERMAN TO REPRESENT NC IN THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS SEPT 6-10. PLEASE DONATE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Hi, I'd like to take the opportunity to recognize an event that is close to my heart, the Special Olympics and this year, a very special person will be representing the state of NC, Matthew Smitherman who is the son of my co-worker and dear friend, Bryce Smitherman. This year, Matthew has been honored as being chosen one of two golfers to represent Team NC at the North America Golf Invitational Tournament in Glendale, AZ from Sept 6-10, 2012.

Matthew and our other representative, Lawrence Blume will be playing 9-hole Alternate Shot in this tournament. Matthew has been involved in Special Olympics for over 5 years. He has been an avid golfer for over 14 years. Lawrence Blume has been coaching and volunteering with Special Olympics Forsyth County for over 4 years. He has helped with the Golf team for the past 2 seasons. This will be both players first time playing in a National Golf Tournament.

Lisa Kiser, local coordinator Special Olympics Forsyth County, will accompany the pair and also serve as head of delegation for the entire delegation from North Carolina.

Please make a difference in these two lives and the lives of other Special Olympians by helping in the fundraising efforts to send these athletes for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Thank you for your support of Matthew and Lawrence in helping them reach their fundraising goals in preparing for the upcoming SONA Golf Tournament in Glendale, Arizona!

Thank you for considering a donation to help raise funds for this tournament. Donating through the website link below is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support their fundraising efforts.
