Jake Scores Four American Country Awards Nominations

Nashville, TN (October 11, 2012) – RCA Nashville’s Jake Owen launched his first headlining tour, CMT ON TOUR JAKE OWEN: THE SUMMER NEVER ENDS 2012, with a rockin’ SOLD-OUT show at NYC’s Best Buy Theatre last night (10/10). Jake performed his current smash, “The One That Got Away,” and such hits as “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Alone With You” and fan-favorite “Summer Jam” for the thundering crowd. The evening also featured special guests Love and Theft (“Angel Eyes”) and Florida Georgia Line (“Cruise”), who joined Jake onstage to close out the night with a roof-raising version of Van Halen’s “Jump.”
Earlier in the day, Jake scored four nominations for the upcoming American Country Awards: Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist, Single of the Year: Breakthrough Artist, Music Video of the Year and Music Video of the Year: Male for his hit single “Alone With You.” The fan-voted American Country Awards will air Dec. 10 on FOX. After playing to packed stadiums this summer on Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw’s blockbuster ‘Brothers of the Sun’ Tour, Jake’s dynamic live show and undeniable summer anthems have launched him to headliner status. Jake’s upcoming shows at Royal Oak Music Theatre in Detroit, MI (10/18); two-night run at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL (11/29-30) and The Pageant in St. Louis, MO (12/8) are already sold-out.
Jake’s red-hot single, “The One That Got Away,” is currently climbing the country radio charts and has already landed inside the Top 10. The song is from his chart-topping 2011 album Barefoot Blue Jean Night that has launched back-to-back, multi-week No. 1 hits with the PLATINUM-selling title track and the GOLD-certified “Alone with You.” His ode to summer, the new Endless Summer EP, produced by Joey Moi and executive produced by Jake made an impressive debut at #2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Jake first captured the national spotlight with his hits “Startin’ with Me,” “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and “Eight Second Ride.” His revival of “Life in a Northern Town” with Sugarland and Little Big Town in 2008 earned him Grammy and CMA Award nominations. Jake was named 2009’s Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music, and earlier this year, Entertainment Weekly’s music issue ranked him among “The 30 Greatest Artists Right Now.”
