SAD NEWS: OREGON MALL SHOOTING CLAIMS ENTERCOM PORTLAND'S GROUP GSM, STEVE FORSYTH

Story source: Country Aircheck

As details of Tuesday's (12/11) mall shooting in Clackamas, OR emerge, it turns out the tragedy hits all too close to home on several levels for the staff at Entercom's Portland cluster, which includes Country KWJJ. One of the shooting victims was former group GSM Steve Forsyth, who spent eight years with the company before leaving to form his own marketing firm. His wife Carla still works for the stations as a member of the sales team. KWJJ PD Mike Moore described Tuesday as "a very sad and tragic day." Entercom CEO David Field said in a statement, "Last night the Entercom family lost a terrific friend, a great man, a devoted husband, and loving father. Steve Forsyth was a wonderful man with a terrific sense of humor who loved his family dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steve's wife, Carla and their two children. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him." Forsyth was 45.
