JAKE OWEN STRIKES GOLD DURING TOUR REHEARSALS

No. 1 Single “The One That Got Away” Sells Over 500,000 Copies

NASHVILLE, TN (February 20, 2013) – While in Nashville gearing up to join Jason Aldean’s 2013 NIGHT TRAIN tour, RCA Nashville’s Platinum selling country singer Jake Owen celebrated the GOLD certification in the U.S. for his single “The One That Got Away.” The RIAA has acknowledged the No. 1 smash single for selling over 500,000 copies, marking his first GOLD record that he co-penned. Label executives and management surprised Jake with the shiny news and a special plaque to commemorate the occasion in the midst of his tour rehearsal yesterday (2/19) at Soundcheck.

“If the excitement wasn’t already building just preparing to hit the road with friend (and headliner) Jason Aldean, it sure is now! I can’t thank Country radio and the fans enough for supporting my music. My band and I have been in rehearsals day in and day out getting our new show ready and I can’t wait to share it,” shares Jake.

After selling out every date on his first headlining tour, CMT On Tour, it’s no surprise that Jake also earned this coveted slot on Jason Aldean’s nationwide tour which kicks off tomorrow, Thursday (2/21) in Bossier City, LA and was previously tapped by superstars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw.

The American Country Awards 2012 Breakthrough Artist of the Year new single “Anywhere With You” is already quickly climbing the charts. The song is the fourth single produced by Joey Moi and Rodney Clawson from the Barefoot Blue Jean Night project.

Since releasing his chart-topping album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, Jake has emerged as one of country music’s leading vocalists. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and has delivered three consecutive No. 1 hit singles, including the multi-week chart-toppers; the nearly DOUBLE PLATINUM title track and nearly PLATINUM “Alone with You,” in addition to the GOLD-certified “The One That Got Away.”
