The Cowboy Rides Away Tour Leads the Country in Gross Revenue
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - George Strait's The Cowboy Rides Away Tour debuted in the No. 1 slot of POLLSTAR's Concert Pulse, averaging $1.4 million in gross sales per show, topping Justin Bieber, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Dave Matthews Band, and The Who (top 5 respectively). Strait continues to prove why he's the King of Country with 15 sold out venues on the 2013 leg of The Cowboy Rides Away Tour so far, including record-breaking attendance figures in Grand Forks' Alerus Center and this past weekend's Knoxville, Tenn. and Lexington, Ky. shows.
The show visits songs from throughout Strait's storied career from the early days of Strait Country (released 1981) through today's current climbing Top 20 single, "Give It All We Got Tonight" and many of the 59 No. 1 hits in between.
Strait will continue his Ride at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on March 17 following this weekend's annual George Strait Team Roping Classic in San Antonio March 8-9 where he and his son compete against the sport's best.
