EP Review: "Ashes to Heartache" - Cameron Marion

EP: "Ashes to Heartache"

Cameron Marion ... who? You might not know the name yet but once you hear her debut EP, "Ashes and Heartache", you'll remember when you first heard the voice. Cameron  is the girl from the small town of Kernersville, NC making a big splash in Music City and making a name for herself as both a singer and a songwriter among industry professionals and fans alike. The bubbly, upbeat singer has gained a good sized following through Myspace, Facebook and Twitter. Her shows have drawn in large numbers and she is a two time winner of the Carolina Music Award for "Best Female Country Artist of the Year" for 2008 and 2009. Cameron has shared the stage with artists such as Jeff Cooke from Alabama, Donnie Wahlberg and Jordan Knight from New Kids on the Block and most recently, the original redneck woman, Gretchen Wilson, just to name a handful.

If you like the bold pop qualities of today's country music (think Julianne Hough and Kellie Pickler), then I can promise you're gonna love Cameron. She brings something different, something with a little more edge to the country music table. With strong beats and backing instrumentation, Cameron will have you up and moving in no time at all. Having worked with writers and producers for artists such as *NSYNC , J-Lo, Reba and New Kids on the Block, her music has more of a pop dance sound than "country" but like Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts, there's a definite audience for that sound and it's a big one. Cameron's music does more than blend with the current trend in country, it stands out. Keep your ears open, this small town girl is getting big time attention.

Be sure to pick up your copy of this EP, it's well worth the listen. You can download the EP on iTunes.
