Billboard’s Country Airplay Charts

Critically-Acclaimed Album Lauded by NPR, Associated Press, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Billboard, ET, People, Variety and Rolling Stone

CMA and ACM Award-winning artist Jon Pardi will bring his critically-acclaimed Heartache Medication album to ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday, Oct. 18. Heartache Medication debuted among the top albums on Billboard’s Country Airplay charts, coming in at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart. The album released to overwhelming critical-acclaim by NPR, Associated Press, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Billboard, ET, EXTRA, Variety, People and Rolling Stone. Good Morning America comes after Pardi’s coast to coast album launch stops including special shows for Pandora/SiriusXM, YouTube, Amazon, and a live performance from Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Outdoor Stage of his current Top 20 radio hit, “Heartache Medication.”  See that performance here.

Lauded as an artist with an impressive ability to carve out his own path and one that is “a long-lasting mark on the genre” (Music Row), critics are praising the album that affirms that “...the kind of country music multiple generations came to know and love can still work on a mass scale” (Variety). The excitement around Heartache Medication, an album that is filled of fiddle, twang and steel guitar, continues to build as fans and press are all abuzz, raving:

“ emboldened work...”
- NPR First Listen

“Comfortable applying new ideas to country’s old sounds, the singer is poised for a fast ride.”
 – Los Angeles Times

“Pardi’s music is strong stuff”
- Associated Press

“Jon Pardi Brings Authenticity Back into Country Music with Latest Album”
- People

“Jon Pardi cut a path through modern country’s embrace of pop, hip-hop and EDM…”

“split the difference between Alan Jackson and Bob Seger” with California Sunrise and “Heartache Medication continues that direction with honky-tonkin’, boot-stompin’ tracks about whiskey, women and song.”
– The New York Times

“Instead of borrowing a moniker from one of his heroes, he’s paving his way with his own brand of two-stepping, steel-guitar-laden traditional country music.”
- The Tennessean

“‘Heartache Medication’ covers a multitude of styles, but all of them fall somewhere under a neo-traditionalist umbrella. Which makes him a bit of a hard sell, in some regards, in 2019 -
but also, a hero in the making.”
“Pardi’s evolved approach to country’s heritage sets him apart at a moment when Nashville seems to want to divide itself into the trailblazers and the preservationists.”
- Los Angeles Times

“...could very well be a long-lasting mark on the genre…”

“The influence of legends like Alan Jackson and George Strait permeate Heartache Medication, filled with clever lyrical twists and dancehall ready romps…”
- MusicRow

“Name-checking his country-music heroes like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard, the California native places himself in the same lineage — both as preservationist and rule-breaker.”
 - Rolling Stone Country

Pardi just kicked off his headlining Heartache Medication Tour with two sold-out shows at the Ryman Auditorium featuring several surprises including special guests Brooks & Dunn, a seven-piece mariachi band, and he proposed to longtime girlfriend Summer Duncan on stage.
