CD Review: "Truth and Salvage Co" - Truth and Salvage Co.

CD: Truth and Salvage Co.
Release Date: 2010
Label: Megaforce Records

Truth and Salvage Co .... first off, the name itself is wicked cool. Listen to this cd from an "outlaw" band consisting of six members, including four lead vocalists, and what you'll hear is nothing but pure alternative country truth. Just there mere fact that the cd is produced by Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes should give the cd a great intro to audiences who aren't familiar with the band's music. The music takes me back to memories of summers spent on long road trips to nowhere listening to bands like the Eagles. It brings back a familiar feeling that hasn't been felt in music for many years, a welcome feeling.

The thing I love most about this cd is that every song tells a story, which is exactly what good music is supposed to do. The cd is a heavy hitter, strong from the first note to the last, with a high energy level and spot on harmonies. The twangy southern charm of the first track on the cd, "Hail Hail", makes me wanna turn the lights down, pop open a cold one and immerse myself in a huge pair of 70's headphones. I love it! Music like this has been missing for a long time. Glad to see it's back and back with some meaning. Every track on this cd makes this entire cd worth purchasing, not just the occasional one or two MP3's. Well done. We'll be seeing you around for a long time to come.
